Maríe Dolores Gonzales, beloved daughter, sister, aunt passed away at the age of 76 on Monday, March 2, 2023 surrounded by family in San Antonio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonora Gonzales and Alberto Gonzales (Gloria) and brother Carlos Mario Gonzales.
She is survived by her siblings, David (Diana) Gonzales, Frank (Susan) Gonzales and Debbie (David) Garza; nephews: David (Meressa) Garza Jr., Steven (Ashley) Garza, niece, Yvonne Garza; her grand-nephews and grand-nieces: David Anthony Garza, Arianna Garza, Kristiana Garza, Mia Garza and Marshall Garza.
Born and primarily raised in San Antonio, Texas, she spent a short time during her childhood in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born with cerebral palsy, but enjoyed life to the fullest surrounded by family. She actively participated in and loved family parties and gatherings, dancing, fishing, playing with nieces and nephews and going out to eat. She loved fashion, doing puzzles, being teased by her brothers and most importantly, celebrating her birthday. She made sure we all knew when it was. She had a sweet smile and joyous laughter that will be forever missed.
On May 3, 2023 at 7:00 pm a rosary will be held at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 6907 Kitchener St., San Antonio, TX.
In accordance with her father’s wishes, Dolores will be laid to rest with him at Fort Sam National Cemetery on her birthday, May 4th, 9:00 am. Following interment, her family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life at her sister Debbie’s home in San Antonio.
