Manuel Rodriguez was devoted to his children, his wife, and every one he loved. He served the Lord his entire life and the military for over 20 years. His kind heart, warm smile, and endless charm carried him through his life. He spent his life with the people he loved, especially his wife, Yolanda, and not a moment was wasted. He lived on Arbor Place, in San Antonio, TX. He was close to his mother Esther, aunt Bertha, siblings and cousins... he spent many summers at Medina Lake where he loved swimming and boating. He graduated from Fox Tech High School in May 1966. He enlisted with the Air Force on February 6, 1968.
He began his military career with his first wife and had 2 children, Cat and Tim. Later, he graduated Air Freight Specialist school in 1969, and was promoted to SGT on January 1, 1970. He received another promotion to Air Cargo Specialist on October 4, 1972. He was again promoted to an Air Transportation Supervisor in 1981 and spent 7 years in Germany before returning to the states in 1988. Throughout his military career he received numerous medals and meritorious ribbons. He retired from active duty with an honorable discharge after 20 years and 8 months of continuous service in November 1988. He married his second wife, Yolanda and spent the rest of his best days with her. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Rodriguez and Esther C. Trujillo and his younger brother, Mike Ruben Rodriguez. He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Rodriguez, his sister, Mary Esther Rodriguez, his children, Cathrine Melaunie Brazley and Timothy Gregory Rodriguez, their spouses, three grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10 AM. Services at 1PM with military services to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:15PM.
