Magin A. Hernandez, born on August 25th 1957, in Concepcion, Batangas City, Philippines, went to be with the Lord on May 29th, 2024 at the age of 66. She was the beloved daughter of Maximo Hernandez and Angelina Atienza Hernandez. Magin was the fifth child amongst ten siblings, including Ligaya, Amparo, Mateo (married to Virginia), Manuel, Liberty (married to Marco Francisco), Nenette (married to Manny Untalan), and the late Boyet (married to Veronica), Lallie (married to Arnold Ballesteros) and Jose (married to Cherry).
Magin pursued her passion for education and obtained a degree in BS Agriculture from the University of the Philippines Los Banos, Laguna. In 1991, she made the courageous decision to move to the United States to seek new opportunities and build a better future for herself and her family. Over the years, Magin excelled in her career, serving as a sales manager for various companies before eventually becoming a successful entrepreneur. Their business venture was so successful that they were able to retire early and moved to San Antonio, Texas to be close to her two siblings.
Magin will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her vibrant demeanor, unwavering dedication, compassion, entrepreneurial spirit and her lavish generosity. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of hard work and determination that inspired all who knew her. Magin is mostly remembered for her passion for cooking delicious dishes that she fondly shares to her family and friends.
Magin is survived by her loving children, Joan Hester Mae Dimayuga (married to Allen) and Joseph Reyes (married to Dr. Nicole), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Lucas (from Joan) and Maxine (from Joseph).
Magin's presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her generosity, kindness, strength, and resilience will continue to inspire future generations. May she rest in peace, knowing that she has left an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched.
A visitation for Magin will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238, followed by a prayer service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
