Lillie M John went to be with the Lord, January 12, 2015 at the age of 97. She was born November 15, 1917 to Frank and Elizabeth Fey in Schertz, Texas. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Texas as well as The Saint Ann’s Society for over 50 years. Lillie put her Church and family first and foremost. She was always concerned for her friends and family and prayed for those in need. Lillie was the epitome of a hard working wife and mother. Her family founded the Bluebonnet Palace in 1977 and The Lillie Maries Restaurant in 1992.
She enjoyed her flowers, baking, cooking, working the garden, canning, dancing to country music, trying out all the restaurants from San Antonio to New Braunfels, playing Bunco and Dominoes.
She is survived by her sister: Angela Fey Jandt; sons: Melvin John, Clarence John, Leonard John and his wife Debra; grandchildren: Daryl John, Bryan John and Austin John; Great Granddaughter: Amber John and Kaeleigh Mauntel.
A visitation will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, TX, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Texas at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
