He is survived by two sons, Kenneth B Butler (Theresa) and David C Butler (Patricia) of the San Antonio area, and two daughters, Joanna Santiago and Juli Butler-Morris (Michael) in the Dallas area. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His beloved wife, Erin Massey Butler, predeceased him in 1993.
Ken was a World War II Army Veteran, who was most proud of his participation in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war he also served four years in the Air Force as a communications specialist. His Air Force training led to a career in electronic communications with Western Union and General Telephone Company. He lived many years in Dallas, but spent the last 15 years of his life in San Antonio, where he became active in a veterans group. His favorite pastimes of gardening, walking, and swimming kept Ken healthy during a full and long life.
There will be a private burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
