Ken R. Kuwamura Sr. Born October 11th, 1934 entered eternal rest on February 28th, 2021. He is the son of a Japanese immigrant Frank Sr, and Dora Kuwamura. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Helen Gloria and brothers Frank Jr. and Fredrick Shiro Kuwamura. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Irma, two sisters Alice Weiss and Anita Taylor. His three sons and their spouses, Ken Jr. and Sylvia, Paul Sr. and Candice, Lawrence and Anna Kuwamura. Four grandchildren, Krista Peake, Tiffany Kuwamura, Kari Kuwamura and Paul Kuwamura Jr. Eight great grandchildren, Addison Peake, Paul Kuwamura III , Christian Kuwamura, Thomas Peake, Braylon Godbolt, Kai Kuwamura, Kaleb Kuwamura and Evelyn Kuwamura.
A lifelong resident of San Antonio, he graduated from Burbank High School, and Tyler Junior College where he excelled in football and track and field. He later served in the Naval Reserve. His professional career crossed several paths, including the US Postal Service, and Ford Motor Sales. He settled into a career in general construction including major projects in and around San Antonio, including the Leon Creek Water Treatment plant, Fiesta Texas, and many road and bridge projects. A devout Catholic, he ushered the Papal service here in San Antonio, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had semi-retired but continued to contract projects occasionally. His passions included fishing, hosting parties, and spending time with his grand and great grandchildren. He has left us all with such great memories.
