Juanita Cordova, 91, was welcomed into Heaven and rejoined with her husband Servando Cordova on August 9, 2012. Juanita Cordova was born in Poteet Texas in 1921. She married Servando Cordova shortly after WW II and had 5 children. She was a tireless homemaker and after her husband’s death in 1993 she continued to maintain her household on her own. She has always been fiercely independent and volunteered at her local senior citizens center for many years. She is survived by her children, Thelma Marichalar(Robert), Leroy Cordova, Robert Cordova, Diana Garza(Manny), Jon Cordova, siblings Anita Chavarria(Leo), Jimmy Vera (Mary), sister-in-laws Maria Vera, Mary Vera, grandchildren Leroy Antonio Cordova, Melissa Cordova, Crista Branch, Nicholas Cook, Lauren Cook, Ari Luis Cordova, Bobbie Rose Cordova, Natalie Garza, Daniel Garza, great-grandchildren Robert Diego, Sophia Rose, and Donovan Crockett Branch, Nailah and Zahrina Gordon, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to Odyssey Hospice and The Heights at Huebner. They are especially grateful for the loving care she received from Maria Mayer, Minerva Santellana, Heidi Gremmel, Megan Trevino, Olga Garza, and Emma Martinez. A visitation will begin Monday, August 13, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. for a 11:00 a.m. Mass celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with interment to follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
