Juan R. Guillen, 79, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Friday, February 13, 2015. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00pm, on Wednesday, February 18, at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78237. Juan was born February 24,1936 in Dilley, Texas. He was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School in San Antonio. Juan entered the army as a young man and proudly served in both the Vietnam and Korean conflicts as a drill instructor. He was also stationed in Germany during the construction of The Berlin Wall. He enjoyed fishing, boxing, music of all sorts, and cooking. Juan is survived by his wife Celia Guillen, son Mario Guillen and wife Sandra, daughter Sandra Gonzalez and her husband Noe, five grandchildren Hilary, Celeste, Chelsea, Ethan and Faith; sister Celia Torres, brother Jesse Guillen, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Pioquinto and Teresa Guillen, his brother Henry Guillen and his sister Gloria Medina. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
