Josephine B. Martinez was born in San Antonio TX., on March 19, 1927, to Luis O. Martinez and Modesta
B. Martinez.
During WW11 at age of 17, she became part of 19 million women in the U.S. known as Rosie the Riveter
working for Arlon Innovations, Fabricating sensitive instruments for government War demands. She worked
in other factories throughout her tenor. She was known for her kindness, fairness and humility at her work
place and everyday living. She was big in sports especially all women’s Baseball league.
Josephine was preceded in death by her only son Rolando M. Sanchez. At the burial, son and mother will
be entered together by her wishes. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Luis O. Martinez and
Modesta B. Martinez, siblings Mrs. Oralia Salinas, Mrs. Luisa McNulty, Mrs. Odilia Satarain, Mr. Manuel B.
Martinez and Mr. Ambrosio B. Martinez.
She is survived by her daughter and husband, Sylvia M.S. and Oswaldo Chavez, and only granddaughter
whom both shared mutual love and affection, Mrs. Pamela M. Romanoski and husband Tyron Parks.
The Visitation will be Sunday January 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7:00
p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio TX. The Funeral Service will be
conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday January 22, 2024 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in
San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd. San Antonio, TX. 78237.
