“Nana” was known for her unconditional love and generous heart, her delicious cooking, her exceptional seamstress work, her industrious work ethic, her sense of humor and fun, and her gathered wisdom.
Nana, and her vibrant home, were the heart of her community, as she was confidante, counselor, comadre and friend to many people of all ages.
She is preceded in death by her husband Juan C. Gomez, brother Rudolph “Rudy” Torres and wife Natalie, and grandson Andrew Edgely.
Josephine is survived by her children Christine J. Young, Adrienne “Audrey” Entzenberger and her husband Jim, and John J. Gomez; brother Jesse Muniz; grandchildren, Jennifer Pena (Chris), Aaron Edgley, Marcella Edgley, Elise Entzenberger (Matt), Jonathan Entzenberger (Kristen), Jaclyn Andrada (Jason), and Jessica Martinez along with nephews, nieces and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers to carry her home include Jonathan Entzenberger, Matthew Dayton, Jason Andrade, Christopher Peña, Sr., Christopher Peña, Jr., & John Paul Treviño.
Honorary Pallbearers include Jesse Muniz, Aaron Edgley, Jesse Torres, Arturo Chairez, Sr., Arturo Chairez, Jr., Gilbert Castillo & Mike Guerra.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, Texas from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family and friends sharing stories at 7:00 PM.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM. Procession to immediately follow from the funeral home to graveside service at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest together with her beloved husband Juan.
Her family would like to extend sincere gratitude for her gracious care to Mr. & Mrs. Arturo Chairez, the staff at Lopez Homes Assisted Living, and the staff, nurses and Chaplin Sanchez at Aasta Hospice Care.
