John W. “Bill” Polly, age 72, passed away January 3, 2012 in Pipe Creek, TX. He was born on July 26, 1939 to Jack and Rose Polly. Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Polly, daughter, Erin Killinger and husband Michael; son, John Wayne “Duke” Polly and wife Larissa Leal-Polly; grandchildren, Chrissy and Philip Jr.; sisters, JoAnne, Betty and Rosemary; brothers, Robert and James; special cousin George Geisen. Bill loved his family, cherished his children and grandchildren. He always had a memorable saying for every occasion. Bill was owner and founder of Bill’s Repair Shop, established in 1980, founder of the Polly Open Golf Tournament and the Eckhert Rd. Zoo, one of the original members of the San Antonio Gear Grinders, driver of the dragsters “We Ain’t Afraid” and “Friendly Four”. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel on Bandera Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CTRC.
