I will miss the conversations we’ve had over the past 20+ years since graduating together from grad school.  You will be missed.  Rest easy John.

John was a great colleague who I will always remember for his kindness and willingness to help a teammate. I'll remember his smile when he brought the poker trophy he won. Most of all, I'll remember the joy in his face every time the conversation switched to family and beloved daughter. My deepest sympathies and thoughts go out to the Hurst family, Regina and Hazel.

My deepest condolences go out to the Hurst family. I have worked with John for many years at Chase.  Even though we did not work in the same office together we were on many calls and projects together.  John always had a positive attitude and willingness to help.  John was a wonderful co-worker and will be truly missed at Chase.  My heart is saddened to hear of his passing.

So sorry to hear about the passing of my friend and teammate.  He was always very kind and supportive, and willing to help out with anything.  He will be greatly missed.

Tim Slicker & I had the opportunity to room with Jon while we were in F4. Jon was a great roommate. He was athletic, kind, incredibly bright, and always helpful. I don’t think I would have made it through some of the classes without his help. To Regina, Hazel and the entire Hurst family, please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

John Hurst and I were roommates in the fall of 1994.  Plebe year was tough and he was a lifeline.  The only time we ever quarreled was over a bag of Doritos.  This was also the same occasion when I learned he was a surprisingly good wrestler.  Otherwise, we got along well.  We both loved video games and hated drill.  We enjoyed watching the Simpsons on the one TV we shared with our 100 other best friends in Company F4.  After graduation, we stayed in touch.  I was excited to see him get married watch his daughter grow up.  I am grateful for the time we spent together.  Go Frogs!

While it’s been many years since I worked with John, I’m so saddened to hear of his passing. When I think of John, the most dominant characteristic that comes to my mind is his pure kindness. Even in challenging and stressful situations, John was always so kind.

John and I worked together at Chase for many years (probably close to 10), he was always so kind and equally funny! While we worked at very different locations, me in Elgin, IL and John out of San Antonio, we were on the same team and one of the best teams I ever worked with! Last year, I made my 1st trip to the San Antonio Stone Oak site, I got lost in the building, I was so turned around and and out of shear accident stumbled across John at his desk! I was sooo happy to see him a) because I was lost and b) because he was there and I had forgotten about that! He gave me a HUGE hug  and I was ever so grateful for seeing my teammate! I am so very heartbroken for the family, I know this is a huge loss for you, I wish you peace and love in the coming weeks, months and years, God bless you all and John until we meet again.

John and I were classmates at West Point and spent two years together in company F-4.  I'll always remember him as a great guy and someone you could always depend on.  Good natured. Never said an unkind word about anyone and an amazing athlete.  My best for his family, keeping you all in my prayers - The class of '98 will miss you John! "and when our work is done, our course on earth is run, may it be said well done - be thou at peace"

John,your too soon passing leaves a huge void in our family.  You were a great brother in law and amazing father,husband, son and brother. I will always be there for my beautiful niece Hazel and Regina. I know you are in heaven with your parents always watching down on your family. I have so many happy and funny memories that will keep your memory alive. You live now through Hazel and we're thankful for that. May you rest in eternal peace until we all see you again, we love you John.

John was a good person, father, husband, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He was funny, kind and caring and always helped my son with math whenever he needed it. He will forever be missed, and I still cannot process that he is no longer with us. It seems unreal.  I wish it wasn’t real like we will all wake up from this bad dream. He is in a better place everyone says but his better place was with my sister and beautiful niece.  That’s where he should be, but God had other plans for him, I suppose. I know he will be watching over them and protecting them until they all meet again as a family one day.  We loved u very much John and thank u for going on that first date with my sister many years ago and blessing us with the beautiful daughter u created together.  Thank you for the years of memories and stories we have to remember you by.  Peace and prayers to my sister and Hazel that their sorrow is lessened on each passing day. I remember reconnecting with John after school in 2004(?). I was dealing poker on the Party Poker Million cruise and John sat down at my table. It made for a great rest of the cruise and memory of an amazing guy. A small world indeed.

My deepest condolences to the Hurst family.  I have worked with John for just about as long as he was an employee at Chase.  I considered John a friend.  We shared so many memories together, John has left a lasting impression on me and those he has worked with.  He always brought such a positive attitude to his work and those he interacted with. I'll miss hearing about his Poker tournament wins, Vacations, our shared love for the Soprano's series and most of all how much he cared for his family. I met John a few years ago during the pandemic. We were supposed to room together in Vegas for the WSOP. However I didn’t go bc they required us to be vaccinated.
