Joe Nick Villarreal

Joe Nick was born on August 8, 1943 in San Antonio, TX to Fannie and Jose L. Villarreal. After graduating from Fox Tech High School in 1963, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

In 1968 Joe Nick moved to Houston, TX and began a career with Lockheed Martin as a data processor and electronic drafter.

In 1969 he met Barbara Ruth Watkins. They married in November 1970 and had three children, Brittney, Eric, and Celeste.

In 2003 Joe Nick retired from the Air Force National Guard in San Antonio, TX at Kelly Air Force Base. He spent several years doing the thing he loved the most, playing golf and traveling to tournaments.

Joe Nick was predeceased by his father, Jose L. Villarreal, his mother, Fannie Villarreal, his brother, Joe Villarreal Jr., his brother Emilio Villarreal, his sister in law, Sandy Villarreal, his mother in law, Catherine Watkins, father in law, Billy Joe Watkins, brother in law, Bill C. Watkins, and sister in law, Mary Perez.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ruth Villarreal, his children, Brittney Pequeno (spouse Gilberto), Eric Villarreal (spouse Jayde), Celeste Villarreal (spouse Martha).

Grandchildren: Isaiah De La Cruz, Noah De La Cruz, Gilberto Pequeno III, Eva Villarreal, Jaiden Villarreal, and Eriana Villarreal.

Brothers: Robert Villarreal (spouse Penny), Roland Villarreal (spouse Francis), Jimmy Villarreal (spouse Cynthia) Sisters: Sixta Joyce Ybarra (spouse Jesse), Mary Jesse Zapata (spouse Robert), Claudia Ramirez (spouse Martin), Jeanette Mendoza (spouse Ricardo)

And several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy. San Antonio, TX 78218.

A committal service will occur Thursday January 5, 2022 from 1:45 to 2:15 PM at Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209
