Jimmie Craig Ballard

He is survived by his wife Alexis Boultinghouse-Ballard, his dad Jim Carlos Ballard, his son Justin C. Ballard and wife Jennifer, his step-daughter Kimberly Lindig and husband Ross, step-son Jarod Boultinghouse and fiance Clair Christensen; grandchildren Jacie Ballard, Joshua Ballard, Jacob Ballard and Jana Ballard, Holtyn Lindig, Levi Lindig, Raegan Lindig and Logan Lindig; nieces and nephews, Nathan Wise and wife Suzanna, Clayton Wise, and Piper Brown and husband Phillip.

This is the story of Jimmie Craig Ballard... He was always known as Craig. He was not a perfect man but a good man. Craig inherited the gift of music that was the thread of his family's Legacy. His gran's brother made an album of hymns and his mother's brother Jerry Lawrence was the Headmaster of the Children's Professional Juilliard School in New York. Craig was in the band and choir in high school. He had professional voice lessons as a young man and he had a beautiful voice. He could play the drums, guitar, and if he didn't know how to play he would teach himself. It was at the Ridgecrest Youth trip where he and two of his friends played guitars and sang a song that they had written together in front of thousands of youths. His sister Dea said, "It made him fearless in her eyes." He used his voice and played bass guitar in musicals for the Kirbyville Christian Youth Group. He could make a bass guitar sing effortlessly... it was a desire fulfilled in his life.

As a youth he was always involved in ways to make money. Selling anything from eggs, to magazines in high school. Craig had a gift of sports especially baseball and earned a 4 year scholarship for baseball in high school. Out of high school his biggest desire was to enlist in the Navy and become a Navy Seal and travel the world. His eyes kept him from fulfilling the dream of his life, but God always had his hand on him. He eventually married and had his son Justin Ballard and that became the focus of his life. He became very involved with Eagles Nest Christian Fellowship, became a Praise and Worship Leader and involved in ministry.

He was an avid hunter in his adult life. There were great hunting trips to Llano and Colorado, many, many great stories involving his dad and brother-in-law. Seeing God's beauty in everything. He enjoyed water sports, snow skiing and excelled at all sports. He was a great teacher. Eventually Craig met and married Alexis. They met at church and God did the rest. He loved her dearly and together they complimented one another in life and her ministry with her crosses. Their life was not always easy but she always encouraged him to seek God and live his gift.

Craig's hobbies were hunting, golfing, water skiing, and collecting antiques. He loved working with his hands and his love of antiques turned into an antique restoration business. He loved the history of antiques and that became a passion. This man had so many gifts and was so talented; he had an engineer's mind. One of his greatest gifts was talking and listening and sharing his Faith and his love of the Lord. His gift to the family was them knowing it had been settled in his heart and lived out in his life that Jesus was and is his Lord and Savior, and his desire for all of his family, friends, and acquaintances to seek God with everything that is within them and the confidence that we will one day be reunited again together in Heaven.

The Ballard Family will be receiving guests for Jimmie Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, Texas 78232, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a reception after.
