JIM E. BERRY
Jim was born July 2nd 1942 in Omaha Nebraska and left us August 6th 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sandra Chute Berry, as well as son Doug Berry; daughter Christine Velie; granddaughter Amanda; grandsons Thomas, Mitchell and Nicholas; great-granddaughters Lucy and Lily.
Jim worked as a floor covering sales representative most of his life, making life-long friends. He was a much loved husband, father, brother-in-law, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, traveling and gathering with friends and family. He was always a fun and gregarious companion, able to engage with total strangers and come out as friends. He would often walk into a business or restaurant and find people he knew and immediately engage in conversation, asking about mutual friends and family.
Later in life, Jim was an active volunteer and board member for several children’s charities.
Jim will be greatly missed by all.
Please join us for a celebration of Jim’s life at St. George Episcopal Church October 3rd at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow services.
