Jesusa Garcia Calderon, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on 6 December, 2022 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her Husband Ventura Calderon, Sr., Son Ruben Calderon, Great-Granddaughter Phoenix Calderon, Parents: Simplicio Garcia and Librada Mosqueda. Sisters; Genoveva Gonzales, Paula Silva, María Maldonado, Micaela García and Marcelina Hernández, Brother: Francisco García.
She is survived by her sister Maria Mosqueda. Children; Eleanor (Eddie Sr.) Vallejo, Elidia (Carlos) Gonzales, Ventura Jr. (Cynthia) Calderón and Raúl (Teresa) Calderón. Grandchildren; Anthony, James (Whitney), Matthew Gonzales; Marcella Calderón (Miguel) Álvarez; Vincent (Jessica) Calderón; Joshua (Jenna) Calderón; Cassandra Calderón (Joshua) Lara; Eddie Jr. (Nicole) Vallejo, Eric Vallejo (Megan Bellone); Brandon Calderón (Cassandra). Great-Grandchildren; Aidan, Samantha, Max Calderón; Xavier, Jacob, Marissa Álvarez; Nicholas, Audrie, Garreck Gonzales; Mason, Sawyer, Sloane, Cullen Gonzales; Quinn, Livi, Rye Calderón; Atlas Ki Calderón; Scarlett Beth Vallejo.
Jesusa was born in Monterrey, Mexico on 6 August 1931. She moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1950. Jesusa was a very hard worker. In her lifetime she worked many small jobs. Jesusa also worked at Saint Mary’s University and Lackland, A.F.B. She had an interest in helping as many people as possible and assisting families in the public housing program. Above all, Jesusa considered the best thing she did was giving guidance to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She continuously expressed gratitude for her life to her children and gave thanks to the Lord for her many blessings.
FUNERAL SERVICES
Funeral services will be held on 27 January, 2023 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd., San Antonio, Texas. Visitation at 10:30-11:00 a.m., followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at 11:30 A.M. Visitation continues at 12:30-1:30 pm. A committal service will follow at Fort Sam National Cemetery Shelter #5 for interment at 2:45 pm (sharp).
