Jesus C. Hernandez (Jesse), age 82, was called by our Lord and Savior on Friday, October 15, 2021. He was born August 24th, 1939 in San Antonio, TX. A graduate of Fox Tech High School, where he acquired the carpentry skills that laid the foundation of his occupation, and established business owner of JC Quality Cabinets.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rafael and Amelia Hernandez; and his sister Amelia Hernandez, and brother, Joe Hernandez.
Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Minerva S. Hernandez. Daughters, Lourdes S. Palacio (Manuel), Minerva Hernandez; Son, Jesse Hernandez Jr. (Maria). Six grandchildren, Jeric, Jennifer, Marissa, Paul, Lea, and Joshua. One great grandchild, Emery. Sister, Juanita Martinez, Brother, Rafael Antonio Hernandez. And numerous nieces and nephews.
A proud faithful devoted family man, a treasure to his family. Respected & loved by his family and friends. He worked at Cardell Cabinets. He mastered making cabinets, and started his own business, JC Quality Cabinets for over 20 years. He was a hardworking man, who took time to mentor others in his craft, and served proudly in the Air Force Reserve.
He lived life enjoying his family and friends, traditional ranchera music, food & dance. His favorite passions were carpentry, anything western, John Wayne, horses, and collecting movies, coins, cheering the Dallas cowboys and Spurs, and caring for his pet dog Oso. His deepest love and passion was his wife, “Melida” whom he adored all his life.
The Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on Sunday, November 7 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., followed by Rosary at 7:00.p.m. The Procession will depart on Monday, November 8 at 9:15 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of The Resurrection at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 S. Santa Rosa, San Antonio, TX 78204. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, only 100 guests will be allowed in the funeral chapel.
The Hernandez Family is requesting for all guests to wear facial coverings upon entering the building.
