ROSENBBERG, Jerry, age 88, of San Antonio, entered into rest June 9, 2018. He was born to William and Sophia (Rothman) Rosenberg in Chicago, Illinois on July 19, 1929. Jerry had two parrots, dogs, and a pet squirrel, Speedy. He enjoyed gardening, citrus, limes, and oranges. Jerry was first generation American as his parents were from Russia and London, England and was the generation of “you earn it.” He was a newspaper delivery boy attended the University of Houston and while in college he worked in an Iron Mill to pay for his studies. He went back to college late in life to get a degree from Texas State in 1983 when he was 53. Jerry is an Army veteran and loved music and he loved to dance. Some of his favorite bands were the Bee Gees and Elton John. Jerry was owner of Jr Air Supply, Inc. for 40 years retiring at age of 86 following a hip replacement. He loved & had vast knowledge about world history especially Jewish history. Jerry was always telling jokes…getting a laugh and very upbeat. He was very successful. Always the glass half full not half empty. He will be loved and missed by those of us he leaves behind.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Raymond & Norman Rosenberg. He is survived by Rose Rosenberg and his step-daughters Tarisa Gruensteiner and Juli Crowe; his nephews Paul Rosenberg, Bill Rosenberg; and nieces Marsha, Barbara Rosenberg, and Wendy (Rosenberg) Kent.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 9:30 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
