JEANNETTE R. MOLINA, 67, of San Antonio, TX, passed away in a local rehab facility on January 13, 2024. Jen, as she was called by family and friends, suffered a stroke in October and was receiving rehab therapy. She was doing quite well and her passing was rather unexpected.
Jen was a 1974 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and attended Texas Lutheran College where she was a member of Delta Alpha Delta. She worked for many years for the San Antonio Police Department as a 911 dispatcher. She was co-owner of Buds ‘n Bows with her sister, Stella, and eventually retired from the State of Texas, Texas Workforce Commission after 25 years. Jen was a great cook and her favorite past time was sewing and gardening. She loved taking care of her colorful flower garden in her front yard. Although Jen had no children, she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Jen was a fun, happy-go-lucky person with a good sense of humor and she loved to laugh. She loved to reminisce about funny stories and sayings our parents had.
Jeannette is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Ruiz Molina and Alfonzo Salas Molina, and great nephew Kolin Wormsley. She is survived by aunts Stella Williamson, Linda Molina, her sisters Angel Torres, Stella Olveda, and Rose Marie Salazar (Manuel), nieces Veronica Torres, Valerie Patruno (Franco), Stephanie Everson (Alan), Sonia Gutierrez, Krista Cerda (Jay), her nephew Kevin Salazar, great nieces Jordyn and Stacie Cerda, great nephew Jay Matthew Cerda Jr., numerous cousins, and her beloved dog Spikey and parrot Mr Birdie.
A special thank you to Jen’s rehab roommate Rene Randall, who refused to leave her side and prayed with Jen every morning and night before bedtime, and, to James Hampton, the CNA who helped Jen on a daily basis. Jen always talked about how kind and caring James was to her. He made her feel special, like she was family, and she was the only patient he had. And thank you to her neighbors, Dolores and Oscar, who always kept an eye on her.
