Janice Carolyn Ford, lovingly known as “Jan” to many, entered into eternal life on July 9, 2019 at the age of 78. A native of San Antonio, she was born to Urbone Atkinson and Lucille Dorow on April 28, 1941.
Jan retired from civil service and will be remembered for her love of traveling and extraordinary talent at planning family trips. She had a special place in her heart for all animals and would take in just about every stray she crossed paths with. She took pride in having a green thumb and enjoyed scrapbooking photos. She was a volunteer for many years at the Zoo and for the Mission San Juan; but her fondest memories were spent with her family, whom she adored.
Jan was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Scaramozi and step-father, Jimmy Scaramozi. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of over 59 years, Billy Ford; daughters: Carolyn White and husband Andy, Jeanette Williamson and husband Johnny, Molly O’Regan and husband Ian; grandchildren: Jeremy White and wife Brittany, Emily White, Natalie White, Joshua White, Zachary Williamson, Alex Williamson and husband Ben Wells, Zoe Williamson, Evan O’Regan, Mackenna O’Regan; and great-granddaughters, Lucy Williamson and Ella Wells.
The family will receive guests on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 5pm-8pm with a Memorial Service celebrating Jan’s life at 7pm. For online tributes please visit the online guest book.
