It would be hard to think of just one memory of Frank. Growing up without a dad, I was definitely excited to come over to my friend, Deena’s house and I was welcomed with open arms. Frank and the whole Dodds family always made me feel special—like I was part of the family. I was always impressed with Frank’s carpentry skills and that he could do a pretty mean impression of Elvis. He was a very loving man and you could tell that his family meant the world to him. Today the service, eulogy and slideshow were so beautiful and Frank will be greatly missed. Love you all. 

Memories of my brother Frank are too numerous to mention. However, I recall when I was about 10 years old, he was on his way to the Pentagon  for an assignment and stopped by our home in Mississippi for a visit. While he was on the porch visiting with mom and dad, I took a cigarette from the pack he left on the coffee table.  I ran as fast as I could to the outhouse and lit the cigarette. I took one puff  and started choking, coughing and eyes tearing up.  I thought I would pass out so I  put the cigarette out and ran back to the house like nothing had happened. 

Frank asked me, "Where have you been and what have you been doing?"  He knew from the look on my face and my red eyes that I had been smoking. Not to mention he had seen the smoke coming out from the top of the outhouse.  Oh he knew and I  knew I had been cought.

He took me by the hand and led me into the living room where he placed his arm round my head in a steady hold. He lit up a cigarette, inhaled and slowly blew it into my face. I was screaming, yelling, coughing, choking, and crying for help, which I might mention, no one rescued me. He completely finished his cigarette and blew it into my face. It seemed it lasted for an eternity and I was never gonna get away from that smoke.  With tears streaming down my face he finally turned me with that smirk on his face and asked, "Did you enjoy that cigarette and do you want to smoke now?" 

At  the time I thought he was cruel and mean but as time went on I grew older, I realized that my brother Frank loved me and was concerned about me smoking.  To this day I have never smoked cigarettes nor will I ever.

Thank you brother Frank. You will always be loved by "Little Brother" and have that special place in my heart. Until we meet again, Rest in Peace. 

I will always remember our time in Germany.  Frank and Dora, mom and dad.  Although I was young I have many fond memories of our times together.  Frank was like my second dad, always there with kind words and support.  He was a special and kind man who will be truly missed.  My thoughts and prayers to Dora, Debbie, Deana and family.  

I will always remember the home of Aunt Dora and Uncle Frank being a warm, inviting one, where taking a walk in the garden felt so very special. Uncle Frank was one of the "good guys" and we will miss him dearly.   Aunt Dora, Deena, and Debbie - my heart goes out to you guys. I know your lives are forever changed, but the memories will never go away. Know that we care, and send our love while you endure this difficult transition. With love, Kim




My Uncle Frank was one of a kind he was the kindest and sweetest man...  Mom always spoke of him with love and admiration, which he lived up to and more.
I was lucky enough to experience his love as one of many of his nieces.  I as one and I  know there are many that will miss him very much. I know he is at peace no pain.

I'll miss you Uncle Frank. You'll always be the softest speaking, most gentlest man I know. And you'll always be the first person (and so far, the only person) that showed me how to use a shoe horn. I love you! 💕

Having had Chief Dodds work for me in Personnel for many years and now learn of his passing I want to send my sincere sympathy to his family.  We had great times together in our working relationship.  He was an outstanding NCO in all categories.  Our prayers will be with the family. 

Growing up I always looked forward to going to  my Tía Dora and Tío Franks house when we were going to see my dad Willie’s side of the family.  Uncle Frank always served up a great BBQ and always had a smile on his face and thinking back I don’t ever remember seeing him mad once!! He had a heart of gold and loved his family. Thank you God for sharing this great man with all of us! I will miss you and look forward to seeing you again someday. Love Ron

He is preceded in death by sisters Lee Carolyn Dodds, Mary Alice Tackett, father Aubrey N. Dodds, mother Celia Birdie Dodds.

Survived by loving wife Dora G. Dodds and 2 beautiful daughters, Debra Lee Dodds (Ross Perry), grandson, Jason, Cedar Park, TX and Deena Kay Dodds, San Antonio, TX. Also survived by sisters, Flora Todd, Lisbon Falls, ME; Linda Edwards, Drummond, TN; Dorothy Rule (Marty), Lisbon Falls, ME; and Brother Hugh Dodds, Euless, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
