Irma G. Lopez

Irma Garza Lopez passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the age of 85. Born on February 13, 1936 in Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, she was married to Jose Martinez Lopez for 40 years. Both came from Mexico to build a life in the United States for their nine children. There were five sons and four daughters; Bernardo Lopez, Jose Lopez Jr., Felix Lopez, Ricardo Lopez, Heathcliff Lopez, Irma Margarita Lopez Paulini, Mercedes Lopez San Miguel, Maria Elena Lopez Vasquez and Liberty Barrientos Lopez. Irma Lopez and Jose Lopez were both founders of their business, Delicious Tamales, which remain open for over 36 years, eventually opening other locations that were given to their surviving sons.

Irma G. Lopez was loved by many and will continue to be in our hearts.

Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the Visitations at Trevino Funeral Home – 226 Cupples Road 78237 – will both be limited to 100 people in the building at a time. Face coverings are encouraged to be worn.

The family will be receiving friends for the visitation on Thursday, June 10 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On Friday, June 11, a final viewing will be offered from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A Funeral Procession will depart at 11:00 AM to escort Ms. Irma passed her Delicious Tamale Factory and her home for one last time before arriving to San Fernando Cemetery II – 746 Castroville Road 78237 – for the burial.
