Irene Huron Vasquez

She was born on April 5, 1927 in Atascosa County, Texas, and is preceded by her parents Jose Maria Huron and Juanita Herrera Huron, brother Jose Maria Huron, Jr., sisters Josefina Leal, Emilia Garcia, Herlinda Cisneros, Sulema Villanueva, Antonia Huron, husband Esteban L. Vasquez, son Pedro Jose Vasquez, grandson Esteban Vasquez III, great-grand-daughters Mercedes Lynn Bann Sarnes and Harley Leeann Snyder.

Survivors include sons Esteban H. Vasquez, Jr. (Gloria) and Daniel H. Vasquez, daughter Lorraine V. Sandoz (Jesse), grandchildren Annette V. Snyder (Chris Batdorff), Pedro Jose Vasquez Jr., John Anthony Vasquez and Jesse Joseph Sandoz III, great-grandchildren Victoria Bann Colvin (Matt Piaseczny) and Peyton Batdorff, great-great grandchildren Elijah Colvin, Wyatt Thomas Piaseczny, Wynter Mercy Leeann Piaseczny and Lucas Sarnes.

Irene was raised in Poteet, Texas, met her husband Esteban and was married on April 5, 1944 until his passing on July 22, 2012. She was a devoted wife for 68 years to Esteban and nurtured all of her four children in San Antonio, Texas. She was an extraordinary woman with a strong will. She loved to crochet all her life from dollies, hats, table cloths and bed spreads. Also, enjoyed other hobbies which included being a seamstress for herself and her children, making Mexican dresses, quilts, did gardening and beading. She loved to dance with her husband and enjoyed social life.

A visitation for Irene will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211 with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Chapel service will occur Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211 with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery, 20567 TX-16, Von Ormy, TX 78073.
