Guadalupe G. Lopez, 85, passed away on December 27, 2015 at his home surrounded by his wife and children in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Blewett, Texas, on January 23, 1930 to Francisco and Josefina Lopez.
Guadalupe graduated from Edgewood High School in 1949. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to San Antonio where he met his beautiful bride Susana Hortencia Estrada and they married in 1957.
Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Susana; daughters, Dora (Mario) Cooremans; Leticia (Rick) Reyes, Susana (Peter) Krulevitch, Graciela (Leo) Fuentes; and sons Jose Luis (Glenda), George, Guadalupe Jr., Hector (Mayra) and grandson Raymond Trommetter who he helped raise; grandchildren, Michelle, Krystle Rose, Joe, Marisa, Alexis, Katelyn, Sofia and Alekiah; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Raul, Robert, Jesse and John; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Lopez; and sisters, Dolores Moreno, Josefina Cano and Francis Calbillo.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home from 1p.m. until 9p.m. for family and 5p.m. until 9p.m. for friends of the family on Sunday, January 3rd, with a Rosary to be recited at 7p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 4th.
