Gregory Paul Wood

Gregory Paul Wood went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2021 at the age of 59 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on November 13, 1961 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri to Dr. Charles Leonard Wood and Alma Wood.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Leonard and Bernice Wood of Hemingford, NB; father, Dr. Charles Leonard Wood of Lubbock, TX; sister: US Air Force Staff Sergeant Lisa Wood. He is survived by his loving wife: Yvonne Wood; sons: Garrett Velasquez, Gavin Wood; daughter: Graciana Wood; mother: Alma Jane Wood of Lubbock, TX; brothers: Mark Wood and wife Gwen of Lubbock, TX, John Wood and wife Karen of Denton, KS, sister; Maris Craig and husband Rick Craig and other family members and friends.

Gregory was a kind loving person who worked for the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration as a Planning Coordinator for many years. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Tech University and a Masters of Arts Anthropology at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Gregory was a loving husband, father, brother and son who will be greatly missed.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at St. Joseph Church at Honey Creek, 25781 TX-46, Spring Branch, TX 78070 with a rosary presided by Father Francis McHugh at 7pm. A Funeral Mass, presided by Father Pat O’Brian, will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3919 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209 with a reception to be held after mass from 12pm-1:30pm with a procession to follow immediately after to Holy Cross Cemetery.
