Gloria Ann Busch was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 25, 1934 to Charles & Hulda (Fenske) Busch and passed away on August 3, 2012. She was paralyzed by polio when she was 7, but had a remarkable life. Gloria was an award winning floral designer, making flowers from crepe and regular paper, wood fiber and cloth which duplicated the color and beauty of natural flowers. Her designs were in great demand by churches and flowers shops in Bexar County and the Hill Country. She was a PBX operator for Goodwill Industries and was selected “Worker of the Year” in 1968. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and her friend and companion for 42 years, Jose A. Alonzo. Surviving are her brother, Charles Busch, Jr. and his wife, Peggy; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, especially Réy Alonzo, Harold Lopez and Lori Duarte. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Park.
