With profound sadness, the family of Frank Alan Woolf announces his passing on February 5, 2024. Frank Woolf was born on April 17, 1945, to Albert and Maggie (née Smith) Woolf of San Antonio, Texas. Frank graduated from Highlands High School in 1964. He enlisted in the United States Army on May 6, 1966 and served his country for 3 years. Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Army, his service included a single tour in Vietnam as a Communications Specialist. Shortly after his service ended, he met the love of his life, Marci Patten Nicol Woolf. They met in December 1969, and married in May 1970, and were married for 45 years, until she passed in 2016.
Frank joined the DeMolay organization as a teenager, and was a Master Mason for 55 years, belonging to the Bluebonnet lodge in San Antonio. Frank and Marci traveled the world, living in Germany, London and Japan. Upon retirement, he served as a docent for the Institute of Texan cultures for 20 years. He was also an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church since 1978. Frank lived life to the fullest! He loved deeply, cared passionately . He was loyal, devoted, courageous and everyone's favorite Santa Claus!!
He is survived by his son, Christopher Alan Woolf, and wife Michelle; his daughter, Cari Woolf Norz, and husband Gregory; twin sister Mary Hendrickson (née Woolf) He is also survived by his 3 beautiful grandchildren Emma, Ryleigh and Christian who adored their “Papa Woolf/Pops” He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Jack, Daniel and Jerry) and sister Alva.
Graveside services will be conducted at Fort Sam National Cemetery Friday February 23, 2024 at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Memorial Fund.
