Fernando Ontiveros Rodriguez

Fernando was born on May 18, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas. He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965 and worked for The Houston Post for 25 years. Fernando had an immeasurable love for music, plants/gardening, Christmas, and most of all roads trips with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Carolina D. Rodriguez, married 56 years, children Claudia, Joaquin, and Gabriel, grandchildren Andres, Alicia, and Alejandro, and great-grandchildren Katilia and Emilio, Brother Arturo, Cousin Carrie, Sister-in-law Leonila, and several nieces and nephews.

Fernando is predeceased by parents, Manuel and Petra Rodriguez, Socorro Aguirre, brother Gilbert, Cousin Hector, Aunt Elvira, and Sister-in-law Mary.

Visitation Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 5-9 pm at Funeraria del Roy Akers, 515 N Main Avenue, San Antonio, Tx. 78205.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Templo Cristiano, 2304 El Paso St. San Antonio, Tx. 78207, followed by committal service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, Tx. 78209, at 1:15 PM.
