Sylvia, Fernando and all the family!  When I heard the news of your son passing, I was in disbelief!  Chills went through my body and I was literally frozen! I could not believe it!  I met your fabulous & loving son once or twice in my life but it seemed that I knew him more because of you, Sylvia and Fernando and of course through FB! When we talked we would always ask about each other’s children and laugh and share beautiful memories of them! I would tell you that your son resembled you entirely - good looking and loved by all!  It hurts to even think that your son is no longer here - I know and I can feel your sadness - for I considered him my mijo like I do my own son! That’s what I felt!  I go back to when we were children living on Osage and how we always kept in touch throughout the years!  Always happy to see you and Fernando to exchange stories and to ask about each other’s children! I am so sad Sylvia and really am at a loss for words! I continue to pray and recite the rosary for you all and for your sons soul!  We ask why and get no answers!  I trust in Our Lord and His Most Blessed Mother and look forward to the day that we will all be together up in Heaven with all who have gone before us!  We are here for you Sylvia, Fernando and all the family!  We love you all very much!  We hurt because you hurt! When you love someone so much you can even feel their pain! Hugs and kisses go forward to you & the family!

I honestly dont know where to start. My heart aches along with Roxanne,  Bailen, and the family. Fern you were such a genuine man. A true, honest, loving, funny, and respectful husband, father, son, and our friend. Thank you for leaving such an imprint on our hearts, for listening to young teenage boys when they needed advise, for raising a wonderful son who has turned into such a fine young man,  for all the laughs and laughs and laughs! You are so deeply missed already Fern. We've got Bailen and Roxanne from here.....they will never be without love and support for us and all those who you have touched in some way. Our TX TECH tailgates will NEVER be the same without you! Rest in peace Fernando. So its not goodbye, its until we meet again in Heaven!

 As my eyes fill up typing this, words can't describe how you're definitely missed.  From our in depth sports talks we used to have in the mornings to the "If you need anything, brother, just let me know " talks. Your heart was as big as your presence when you walked in a room (A trait we both share.) Although we never had a chance to smoke cigars together like we said we would and talk about life, we talked almost everyday as if we did have that talk. I love you, Brother, more than you'll ever know. Others know you for your infamous "Fist Bump," but I will always remember our "Brother Hugs"  Rest ...

Wow Fern, you are truly loved by your family, school friends who turned into your brothers, friends and co workers! You  made an impact on so many people. I know we didn’t see each other often, but I’m so thankful for Facebook because that’s where most of our communication happened.  You never missed wishing me a happy birthday and you definitely never missed an opportunity to tell me “Cheerleading was NOT a Sport!” You loved giving me a hard time, but I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything!  I’m so grateful for March 2, 2019 because that’s when this pic was taken and a memory I will cherish forever. To Roxanne, Bailen and your family, I’m so sorry for your loss and you will be in mine and my daughters prayers. RIP my friend. I will never forget you!

When I first started training, you were the first person I set with and you eased my nerves big time. We never got to communicate all the time, but when we did you always asked how I was doing and chatted with me.  You were a great guy and I hope you rest easy Fern.

I have prayed and wished the last few days that this was a horrible case of mistaken identity, that this was not you, and that everyone has gotten it all wrong, however, I am forced to come to realize with every memory posted that, that is not the case and for reasons unknown God has taken you from what feels like too soon from us, and from your family. We don’t know why but can only find comfort in knowing that you are among the angels and are at peace and remember your smile, your laugh, and your jokes! I will never forget our tubing trip that one Saturday with our work buddies! One of the best tubing trips ever! You will be dearly missed friend. Rest easy in heaven. Til we see each other again.

This is the most heart wrenching thing to do.. to send you a message knowing there won’t be a response back with your funny jokes or comments. You had so many catch phrases, so many different ways to make us laugh and get us through the day. You loved being with everyone, you were the organizer of get togethers, the life of our meetings, and most of all, the greatest friend. You always asked “is it gonna be a good day?” Or “what’s up, lady?” and topped it off with your famous fist bump. You never missed a morning. All of us looked forward to seeing your smile, you made sure you acknowledged every single person. 
You made fun of us (me, gabi, denise) ALL day but we lived for it. You were the big brother. You made work so much better. No one will ever replace your genuine laughter and smile. Your heart was the biggest. I don’t think we will ever be able to process that you’re not here with us anymore. Rest peacefully, dear friend. We hold you and your family in our prayers. 

Fern, I was in such disbelief to hear of your passing. I saw you not too long ago and commented to you how we need to have a BBQ with all your Jay buddies. I still remember you as a kid being my little Brother Ignacios friend. You, Rodney, AJ, Henry, Paul, Jeff, Mel as my little Brothers and Sister. I love you all. My Mother as well as the rest of the Miranda family are heartbroken. My continued prayers to your wife and Son. You will be greatly missed little Brother. RIP.  We love you! 😥

Fern, Gregg and I find it hard to believe you have left the Earth so soon. We will always have such fond memories of our time together as crazy football parents and post game celebrations. I have a very distinct memory of you jumping out of the bleachers to assist my mom up the stairs to our seats when she was near the end of her life but couldn’t stay away from the seeing her grandson play - you were such a gentleman. It’s ironic that we will celebrate your life now in the same place we celebrated hers. I pray your soul rests in peace and we will see you again. To Roxanne (part of my Raider Family then my OC Family and my USAA fam) - you and Bailey and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We will always be here for you.

My condolences to the Padilla family.  No words can ease the sense of loss when the reality sets in that our loved one is no longer in our sight or can be heard. However, if you close your eyes and you can see that endless smile; if you listen carefully to the music that he loved, you will remember the comfort of his voice, & the laughter in his heart.

I was saddened to hear that Fern passed away. My thoughts are with you and your son.  He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many.  I hope that he can now rest in peace. 

Words can’t express my sadness for this loss. I remember when you trained me at USAA like 20 years ago and you remained a good friend which led me to meet Roxanne and Bailen. My son Josiah remembers the time you spent working out and training the boys. The love you shared for Roxanne and Bailen is a true example of your character and reflection of your memory. My heart is heavy but know that I’m here for Roxanne and Bailen and will  be there for them at all times- we miss you !!!!

I still don't want to believe it is true. I take some comfort in seeing all these wonderful words being said about you. It proves what many of us already knew, that you were loved by so many! I will always remember how you cared for everyone else! Your love and compassion for others is one of the many reasons Ben and I knew we picked the perfect Godparents for our daughter. We wanted her to grow up by yours and Roxanne's example. This picture is a reminder of one of the best days of my life! 

Your love for Roxanne and B was so admirable and will always be my fondest memories of you! Rest in peace Fern because all who loved you, love them too and they will always be taken care of! Until we meet again. We love you and miss you.

Fern, I’m so sad that you are gone and the few times we had met in passing I wish we had more time. You were always nice to me when I would go out with all our USAA friends. You were always that person to ask “hey how you doing”! Or joke with me...I walked up to a table you were sitting at with our friends and asked if I could have some chips and queso in front of you. You were like yeah go for it! A few minutes later and after everything was gone you were like idk where those chips came from 😂 I was like omg Fr! You were like naw I’m just kidding! 😂 you made an impact on me and my life. I will miss you and the time we missed. I hope you know you were so loved and cherished by so many people. 

My dearest nephew, words cannot express the sadness in my heart! So many questions left unanswered, so many why’s, so many what if’s, but one thing we know for sure, you were loved by so many! It’s such devastating news to hear of Ferns passing. You my friend brought laughter to myself and so many people. Fernando,  hearing of your passing crushed me.  I know we haven’t kept in touch like we should have but, I am grateful to say not only was I able to call you my neighbor for over 6 years but I was able to  call you my friend.    Reading all these condolences and how you affected people tells me you never wavered from who you were.   This is the photo we took when the Vikings took down the cowboys in January of  2010 and who knows where you got a Viking hat.   You are still making me smile and laugh!!   Miss you brotha!!!
