Evelyn Diaz Johnson

Evelyn Johnson, age 54, went to begin life with God and her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 19, 2010. Those left to cherish her memory are Father and Mother, Abraham and Maria Diaz; her husband, Bruce Johnson; sons, Daniel and Ray and his wife TJ; siblings, Aurea, Nereida and Virginia; grandchildren, Isaiah and Elijah; among numerous other family members and lifelong friends.

Evelyn was born in Rio Piedras, PR on June 30, 1956. She was raised in Union City, NJ and graduated from Emerson HS Class of 1976. The family migrated to San Antonio, TX in 1984, where she remained until her death.

A devout Christian, Evelyn was a very active member of the Corner Stone Church. Evelyn was a devoted, compassionate friend. Her life was filled with things she loved to do best. She enjoyed family gatherings and watching sporting events. She was a lovely and independent woman who loved to share a laugh or a smile and was always willing to help out anyone who needed a hand.

Because of her giving nature, Evelyn would be delighted that in lieu of floral arrangements you have donations made to the Christus Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital.

A prayer service will be held at the Sunset North Funeral Home located at 910 N Loop 1604 East, San Antonio on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 1:00 PM. with Rev. Boots Levine officiating. The graveside service and interment will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 9:45 A.M. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
