Our beloved father Ernesto T. Urias born in Marion TX on 25 Oct 1921 died peacefully on Tuesday June 3, 2013 at the age of 91, surrounded by his family. He joins his parents Marcelino and Angelita, his loving wife of 64 years Jesusita and his five siblings, Velia, Olivo, Estela, Maximiano and Cruz. He is survived by his children, Irma Urias, Ernest Urias Jr and Sylvia Urias-Vallejo(Adrian); grandchildren, Velia Charo (Michael). Ernest Urias III; great-grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Steven, Aiden, Jesse Joe, and Destinie; great-great grandchild Elijah; special extended family, David(Laura), James (Mary) Wheeler, Miranda, Arianna, David Jr, James Jr, Barbara Jean, Natasha, Dolores and Sarah.
Ernesto served in the Army during World War II. Upon his return from the war, he met his beautiful bride and they married in 1948. Soon after, he began his 30 year career at Kelly AFB. His hobbies all evolved around home repairs and or upgrades to his own home and rental homes. In the week before his death, he worked on the yard to include trimming rose bushes and even sweeping a neighbor’s sidewalk. Until the end he was the epitome of a jack of all trades and he loved every minute of it.
The viewing will take place on Friday June 7, 2013 from 4pm to 9pm with the rosary to be recited at 7pm at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 am for a Mass celebrating his life on Saturday June 8, 2013 at Our Lady of Good Counsel (1204 Castroville Rd.) at 10:00 am, followed by interment at San Fernando II.
What we'd give if we could say hello Dad, in the same old way, to hear your voice and see your smile, to sit with you and chat a while. So if you have a father, cherish him with care
for you'll never know the heartache, till you see his vacant chair.
