Ernesto was an extremely hard working man, and gave of him self when he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country in World War II, earning such citations as an EAME medal, Army Good Conduct medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Upon his return home from service he started his long career working in a factory after which he enjoyed retirement. And spending time with the VFW organization he belonged to.
When Ernesto found time to relax he enjoyed shopping, watching old movies and he was a huge fan of baseball. He especially loved watching his favorite team the Chicago Cubs. But above all he loved the time he got to spend with his beautiful family.
Ernesto is survived by his loving children. His three sons Ernie Jr, Jesus, and John Steve and his four daughters, Carol, Elizabeth, Annette and Belinda. As well as his wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous cousins and friends. All will cherish the wonderful memories they've created with him.
He preceded in death by his parents, siblings, two daughters, his ex-wife and two great grandsons.
A visitation will be held on March 14, 2021 from 12:00pm-2:00pm, followed by a rosary service at 2:00pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX, 78238. A private family committal service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
