Emma Chacon Almaraz entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on November 14, 2022 at the age of 104. She was born in El Moral, Coahuila, Mexico on March 15, 1918 to Emilia Falcon and Miguel Chacon. She was the 7th of 12 children.
Emma grew up in El Moral, Coahuila, Mexico, and later moved to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico for better job opportunities. She worked in Eagle Pass, Texas as a seamstress. She commuted between countries every day. A better work opportunity came up and she moved to San Antonio, Texas. She met Edward Almaraz and they got married on March 15, 1953. While the grandchildren attended St. Joseph Church Catholic School, Emma helped with the PTA meetings. She attended several school functions and would help the nuns as needed. Emma was a talented seamstress. She also discovered a love for ceramics. Later in life, she took joy in antiques. Emma would purchase and restore antiques, later selling them in flea markets. She won the hearts of several regulars at the flea markets and would often call them her second family.
Emma will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Emilia and Miguel Chacon; husband, Edward Almaraz; brothers, Rene, Rolando, Miguel, Samuel, Uvaldo, Everaldo; sisters, Emilia, Elisa, Aurora, Hortencia. Son in laws; Marcos Serda Sr. and Eliseo Berban Guerra; and grandson in law, Juan Vara Valdez.
Emma's memory will forever live in her children, Maria Consuelo "Connie" Guerra, Dora Elia Del Torro (Ralph), Victor Almaraz, grandchildren, Blanca Yolanda "Yolly", Marcos Jr. (Diana), Eddie, Michael (Connie), Natalie (Eric), Ralph Jr. (Elisa). 15 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Eva; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
