Elvira R. Vazquez

Elvira R. Vazquez, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, entered rest on January 18, 2014 at the age of 86. A native of San Antonio, she was born to Manuel and Santos Ramirez on October 24, 1927. She was a member of El Divino Salvador United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She worked for the Edgewood Independent School District for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Vazquez and their daughter, Rosemary Rodriguez; son-in-law, Michael F. Rodriguez. She leaves to cherish her memory, son Raymond R. Vazquez; grandchildren: Michelle Alonzo and husband Carlos, Melissa Gomez and husband Alexias, Juliette Rodriguez, Natalie Myrick and husband Christopher; great-grandchildren, Rene and Carlos Alonzo; brothers: Manuel Ramirez, Jr., Jesse Ramirez, Edward Ramirez; sisters, Alice Castillo, Helen Bernal; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at El Divino Salvador United Methodist Church, 1701 W. Woodlawn (78201). The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
