God graced us with one of his angels on April 4, 1919 when Ella Mae “Onnie” (Thiele) McLean was born in Harper, TX to Ella and Henry Thiele. Ella Mae was awarded her crown of victory on May 7, 2012 in Austin, TX. She is preceded in death by her loving husbands: Arthur Carl (AC) Hartfiel, Merle (Opa) Shaffer, Hurley (Mac)McLean; son, Dean Hartfiel and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by son, Don Hartfiel and wife Sandy of Magnolia; daughter, Kathleen Wood and husband Jim of Dripping Springs; daughter-in-law Cheri Hartfiel of San Antonio; “adopted” son and daughter, Ed and Jo Beth Alexander of San Antonio. Onnie loved and was loved by her grandchildren, Kristen Lundquist, Brian Wood, Rebecca Quezada, Brandon Hartfiel, Aaron Hartfiel and Tammy Copello. Her 5 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters were her pride and joy. She is also survived by numerous loving relatives and many dear friends.
A service to celebrate Ella Mae’s life will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 12:00PM at Sunset Funeral Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
