Elizabeth H. Rogers

Elizabeth (Liz) Augusta Helm Rogers; affectionately known as Aunt Sister, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2022 at the age of 88. Born on August 13, 1934 in Tynan, Texas to William Carl Helm and Josephine Ide Kercher Helm. Liz grew up in South Texas, graduated from Pettus High School and worked at the Beeville Country Courthouse. She married and moved to New Jersey, then Louisiana and back to her beloved Texas. Liz enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing Bingo, the Lottery and reading Louis L’Amour books; but she will mostly be remembered for being a loving, kind, soft spoken Mother and Grandmother. Her biggest pride and joy were her children, followed by her tenure and retirement from Walmart in 2019 after a 24 year career.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Fredrick, Julius and Robert; and Sister in Laws, JoAnn and Babe. She is survived by her children William Keith Rogers, Brian (Donna) Rogers, Kevin (Jacky) Rogers and daughter, Karen Rogers. Grandsons, Brian (Carmen), Kevin (Faith), Michael, Cody, Travis, Cameron, Tyler and CJ; as well as her sister Virginia Hales, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 10:00AM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238.
