He is preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Munoz and brothers, Clemente Saldana and Arturo Rangel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Rangel of 35 years; son, Efren III (Vanessa), James Daniel (Lauren); daughters, Natalie & Caitlyn Rangel. Three grandchildren, Kaylee, Ethan & James, Jr. His father, Efren Rangel, Sr.; brother, Ralph Perez; sisters, Becky Gonzales & Norma Cerda (Alponse); sister-in-law, Yolanda Rangel (Arturo) and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
He was employed with City of San Antonio Public Works for the last 26 years, within those years he has made numerous friends. He was a coach with his sons in CYO basketball & baseball organization, as well with the select fastpitch softball San Antonio Cougars Organization. For the past 14 years coaching both daughters as well as several young ladies in the sport. Inspiring them to succeed, work hard and follow their dreams.
Efren was always involved with family and friends, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and enjoying his spare time with his childhood friends which he had considered his brothers.
He had the opportunity to travel and go on many cruises.
Efren was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A visitation for Efren will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 from 3:00 PM to Midnight at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A mass of resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at 2:30 PM.
