It is with great sadness that the family of Diana Canales announce her passing on January 31, 2024 at the age of 62. She was born on August 15,1961 in Fremont, Ohio to Carmen L. Canales and Jose Hipolito Canales Sr. She is reunited in Heaven with her mother, Carmen L. Canales; her brother, Joe Hipolito Canales, Jr. and niece, Monica R. Aguilar.
Diana is survived by her daughter, Jessica Marie Santos; sister, Elva Aguilar Garcia; brother, Pete L. Aguilar (Judith); grandchildren, Jason Eric Santos, Jr. (Kelina), Jelena Alexandra Santos, Jaden Noah Santos, and Juliana Marie Santos; great-grandchild, Josiah Moore Santos and was awaiting the arrival of her second great-grandchild.
She cherished her nieces and nephews, Sarah Janelle Fernandez (David), Lorraine Garcia, Natalie Garcia (Ricardo), Elizabeth Aguilar, Emma Aguilar; great nieces and nephews, Joshua I. Losoya, Kayla A. Losoya, Derek Ernsberger, Davian Fernandez, Jemma Justina Collins, Jessie Nicole Herrera, Joshua Baylon, Christopher Ryan Amaya, and Ares Resendez.
The family would like to thank her dear friend and neighbor, Paula Briones for her love, support and caregiving.
Diana was a loving mother, Nana, and Great Nana. She had a beautiful spirit which was evident in her strong faith and commitment to family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
A public visitation for Diana will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at SUNSET NORTHWEST FUNERAL HOME, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78238. Following the public visitation will be a memorial service from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238.
