David graduated from Edison High School and chose to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. He worked for many years at the airport in the cartage and transportation industry. He then went on to start his own company. He was a sports fanatic having played throughout his youth and culminating in an unlimited amount of sports knowledge…he knew every stat, every player, everything about every team. David loved music of all kinds and particularly enjoyed attending outdoor jazz concerts. He was a fantastic griller and made the most AMAZING ribs you have ever tasted! We will definitely miss his sense of humor as he always told the most ridiculous tall tales in the most believable way…
David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Maria Inez Saenz; daughter, Greta Castañares of San Antonio, TX; son, David Saenz and wife Vanessa of San Antonio, TX; and daughter, Erin Saenz of San Antonio, TX; grandsons & granddaughters Elijah Robert Castillo, Aiden Fin Castañares, Madeleine Criselle Saenz, Gabriella Noelle Guzman, Lilliana Grace Guzman, Matthew David Saenz, Gage Rollins Castañares, Maya Nicole Saenz and Alexandria Joy Castro.
