David P. Mayer, 94, formerly of Lake Hills, Texas went to meet his heavenly Father on August 5, 2011. David served in the U.S. Army and retired a Chief Warrant Officer from the Army Reserve. He was an employee and retiree of City Public Service in San Antonio. He was also past president and life-long member of the St. Joseph's Society. Those surviving him are his wife, Marjorie Mayer; son, Charles Mayer; daughter, Ilene Kossaeth and husband, Elton; stepsons: Hodge, Peter and Scott Gilpatrick; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. The family will receive friends at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Rosary being recited at 9:00 a.m. and Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
