passed away on March 16, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.
Parents Antonia Martinez and Benito Martinez, he had 8 brothers and sisters.
He married Oralia Bocanegra on September 8, 1962. They were married for 58 years.
He was a steadfast caregiver for his wife, who is living with Alzheimer’s disease, for the last 7 years.
He served in the US Air Force right after high school and then went on to work at Kelly AFB for over 25 years.
While working at Kelly, he attended night school at the University of Texas at San Antonio while also raising a young family. He earned his degree in accounting from UTSA in 1979.
He loved crossword puzzles, going to Las Vegas, oldies music and was a very accomplished wood worker.
He is survived by his wife Oralia, his daughter Sandra Adams, son-in-law Trent Adams, son Damian Martinez, daughter-in-law Nancy Martinez, son Adrian Martinez and daughter-in-law Pat Martinez, son Ronald Martinez, 7 grandchildren: James Ryan Martinez, Michael Martinez, Damian Martinez III, Tyler Martinez, Claire Adams, Carson Adams and Ben Martinez. He also had 1 great grandson, Malakai Martinez.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #3
