Concepcion (Conchita) Castorena, born December 8, 1918, was called to Heaven to be with the Lord on September 27, 2011 at age 92 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Luis P. Castorena, and brothers Pedro Rodriguez and George Keller. She is survived by three children: Joe L. Castorena, (wife) Lupita, Rosa Marie Logan, Guadalupe Castorena, (wife) Mary Lou, and six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. They lived in Del Rio, TX for forty years and while there she was active in church programs such as the “Legion de Maria” and other church related activities. We would like to give special thanks to the staff of Trisun Healthcare Center on Wurzbach Road for their genuine and loving care provided. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Helotes, TX and the Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
