Chris, I've been waiting to write this because I just couldn't ..... But then I came to my senses and thought, I'm going to see him again. For selfish reasons I wanted you here for your wife, your son, your daughter, granddaughter, your friends and everyone that loves you! 
I know that your not in pain anymore and looking down and smiling away! See, I know how much you were hurting and I'll miss you hopping along with me and our friends. Hey I can say that! Lol! 
Thank you for your friendship! I admired you so much. I only wish I could be like you and inspire people to keep going and fighting! Thank you for teaching me that! 
Thank you for loving DeeDee, Gavin, Lexi and Alexa with all your heart and might! I know they meant the world to you. I'll miss your stories, laugh and all of us hanging out together as friends do.

Chris, it's taken a while for us to gather our thoughts for your guest book. It just does not seem real! Chad and I think it will finally hit us when we have a gathering and Deedee shows up without you! You are so missed and loved.
Chris, you will never be forgotten and always in our hearts. You are an inspiration to us all. You battled for so long and always managed to stay positive despite all the setbacks. You had such an infectious and hearty laugh, big heart and always saw every side and the good in everyone. You were a good man, truly! Never a bad thing to say and always a team player! We will never forget all the great times we had at our table, the deck and garage!! LOL!! Of course Chad will never forget shopping for guns and how excited you were while Deedee and I just rolled our eyes! You were an awesome father and loved your family with everything you had. We are so sad you are gone. You are at peace now and your body is perfect and whole. 
Deedee, you were THE ONE from the day you all met! Chris always wanted to make you happy and loved you with all his heart. He was always so proud of his wife and son. Remember that he would only want the best for you and Gavin and for you all to be happy. 
Gavin, your daddy was so excited and proud when you were born. You were his little blessing and partner in crime. You all loved to gang up against your mom and thought it was so funny! I know being your dad was the best role God could have blessed him with. He was and is so proud of the boy you are and I know he wants you to grow up knowing how loved you are and to carry that with you as you get older. Always remember the special times you all shared even just staying home playing video games! You and your mom were his life and that made him happy. 
We will miss you Chris and speak of you often. Knowing you made all of us better! You truly are a great example of what a "family man" should be. You worked hard, you gave and you loved with all you had. We love you Chris and will always be here for Deedee, Gavin, Alexa & Danielle. Rest in peace our dear friend. We will all be together with our Father in heaven one day. Until then, we will carry you in our hearts!

Chris was a dear friend to us, to "our little group."  Big teddy bear to our Lola. We will miss you Chris and we promise to pray for and watch over Dee Dee, Gavin, Alexa and Danielle. Here's my favorite story about you, told to me by my dad after you left this world. Two years ago when my Dad was very ill, finally going thru his recovery and getting better, he met you at the rehab facility. Chris recognized my dad from prior meetings and naturally approached my dad. So they would run into each other at rehab from time to time. Once, my dad was feeling quite low, pitying himself since his progress wasn't where he wanted it to be. Then Chris comes in, joyful and laughing that he had gotten a speeding ticket on his way to rehab! He just had to laugh! My dad then realized, that this young man who was battling something so much bigger, still was joyful! Even after getting a speeding ticket. My dad quickly snapped out of his sadness because as he stated, "Chris inspired me." Even if it was just for that moment. My dad thought highly of Chris and even though he really didn't know him, Chris made a great impact on my dad. I never knew this story until Chris passed on. When my dad told us the story, we cried together. My dad is a great man, for me, a legend. Chris, you are right there with him!

Been prolonging writing, seems so final. Miss you every day. You were a great friend, father & husband. We will miss your smile & laughter & all the great times we had together. You were one of the great ones and will be missed by everyone. Dee Dee & Gavin. & Lexi & family you are in our prayers. We are here if you need anything.

 This still seems so unreal. I never thought there would come a time where you weren't a phone call away.  I miss you more with everyday that passes. You need to know that Mom, my Dude and the little Bell will be ok, I'll make sure of it always. You will never be forgotten, but remembered and honored everyday.

This still doesn't seem real. Chris- you will always hold a special place in my heart. You immediately accepted me and I never forgot how welcoming you were from the beginning with a big bro/bear hug! :) 
I will treasure every memory of partying, boating, sharing you and Dee's journey of engagement to marriage to parenthood etc..  Your laugh was like no other and your positive outlook and go-get'em attitude was beautiful. More than anything, I will remember how deeply you loved Dee, Gavin, and Alexa. You really set the bar for your dedication and true love for family. 
So many good memories. The laughs alone will keep me and everyone smiling when we think of you. 
Literally, all we needed was to be around our group.. maybe a few drinks.. but, just us-- and, we were set for the night. Tons of laughs, shared stories, great talks, and tons of love all around.
Chris, thank you for being my friend. Truly - you are one extraordinary person that I will never forget. Know that we will always be there for Dee, Gavin, Lex and the family.. And, I know you will be too!

You really are an example of strength and what it means to honor your commitment to marriage and love. There really isn't anything anyone can say to take away the pain of losing your soul mate, but keep Chris in your heart and know that he's no longer hurting, but is diligently watching over you and the entire family and our friends. Stay strong, as I know you will.. But, please lean on us when you need to be lifted up. We will forever be there for you. I Love you!
Gavin-
You already know your Dad was amazing. But, you will continue to be told and reminded just how special he was and how he touched so many lives.
Even though you are already taller than me, I'm older and wiser! So- listen up, bud: Stay strong and do great things. Your Dad is still watching over you and expecting phenomenal things from his son. You will always have his love in your heart and he will always want you to strive for the best. Please try and help your mom. She lost her best friend and is also hurting. She is strong, but does need your support in you both getting through this, together. Your Dad had tons of friends that all respected him and can't say anything but wonderful things about him. Although I'm no longer local, feel free to reach out to me and I'll do whatever I can for you. Also, lean on all the caring family and friends that surround you and love you. Finally, I am sorry you have been dealt this hand in life, but you are a Villarreal and will overcome and still succeed in life in whatever you decide to do in the future. We love you!
Alexa-
You take after your momma in the strength department. You were a rock for her in all the support you provided for the past several years and especially these last difficult months. I know you are hurting too, as you and Chris had a very special bond that took some time to form.. but, was then never breakable. Stay strong and also lean on any of us when you are in need of some extra love! And, whenever you need to get outta town to escape for a long weekend - NYC awaits! Much Love!

Chris was amazing and will forever live on in our hearts and memories. That, I will treasure and hope that each of you find some comfort in that - over time.. It can't be easy, but I pray that you each heal - with God's help. Amen.

My condolences to Dee and Gavin from the Medrano family.  Chris and I go back to 3rd grade when I moved back to San Antonio.  I lived just down the street on Butterfield, it seemed like miles away back then but he was just at the end of the block.  Our paths took us to Anson Jones where we played football and were into Rock music.  Then came John Jay no matter what fads or clicks we faced Chris was a friend to everyone.  He could be with Skater's one day, Jock's the next and then with the Key club next (ok maybe not the Key club).  He was always a friend I could count on.  I wish we would have stayed in touch after high school.  That is my regret.  I don't question the friendship because I know if I saw him tomorrow we would pick up right where we left off, as friends and brothers.  That is how great of a guy Chris was.  I love you my brother and until we see each other again, rest in peace, Chris.

Chris you were an amazing guy! I will always remember you by how gracious, funny, sweet and easy going you were. I cherish the memories our families made together and I know you are now at peace. Rest easy my friend! xoxo

Chris - I don't know even know where to start. You were such an inspiration to us all. You took this battle and fought as hard as you could. You lived for your family and made sure your own inner sorrows weren't showing to those around you. You had the greatest laugh and sense of humor, even though you always took my money in poker, lol. It was just great being around you! You will always a seat at our table. Rest in peace my friend, xoxo!

My friend, strength and comfort when my health was in question. Someone who could relate to all the confusion of the disease. Our deepest condolences on the loss of a wonderful father and husband.  He was a great friend and would do anything for anyone.  Some of the happiest times he had was on the water.  I will never forget on my birthday I broke my prop on my boat and was stranded on the lake.  Chris not only saved us but towed us to the cove and we hung out all day.  It was one of my best birthdays.  A man like Chris will never be forgotten but he will continue to inspire us to be better people and have a heart like his.  We love y'all!

Chris..I know I didn't know you that well ..and we only met a few times.....but we always commented back and forth on FB ect.....I remember going to your benefit a few years back and even gave ya a tavern shirt.........you were a good man, and you will be missed by so many.......I can tell you this....whenever I heard Tool or APC I always thought of you and still do..........RIP my brother!!!

Chris was a wonderful childhood friend, husband, father, uncle, son, and so much more.  His love for life, friends, and family was unmatched, but his courage to fight until the end will forever define his character as a good man and emphasize his faith in God. My wife, Joyce, joins me in expressing our sympathy to the entire family. I have worked with Chris for many years as a vendor for lighting products at his workplace. We would always talk about our families and life. During his most recent experiences with the effects of his treatment I took him to lunch on Sept 14th. During our conversation The Holy Spirit took control and Chris accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. What a glorious time that was to experience. This settles his eternal destiny and I pray this example of his will provide open doors for other friends, family and neighbors to make their own profession of faith in Jesus Christ. 

Chris was a very good man and I so appreciate the friendship we shared.
