Carrie P. Ruiz

Carolina ‘Carrie’ Patricia Pereida Ruiz was born March 17, 1930 to Emilio and Julia Ruiz. She passed away quietly on September 17, 2013, at the age of 83, with her nieces by her side. She proceeded to heaven to join her grandparents: Damaso and Elifonsa Ruiz and Deonicio and Matilde Pereida; her parents: Emilio Hinojosa Ruiz and Julia Pereida Ruiz; her brothers and sisters: Roque Ruiz, Antonia Ruiz Lara, Maria Ruiz Molina, Jose Emilio Ruiz, and Valerio Ruiz; and, her nieces Maria Elena Lara and Anita Lara. Carrie was raised at 1723 Vera Cruz and later in life moved to 139 Woley Drive. She was christen at St. Alphonso Church and later was baptized at Templo Christiano. She is survived by her nephews and nieces: Irene Ruiz Alcorta, Roque Ruiz Jr, Juanita Ruiz Delgado; Antonio Ruiz Lara, Gloria Ruiz Lara Rivera, Judy Ruiz Lara, Margie Ruiz Lara McGee, Esperanza Ruiz Lara Gudea, Lydia Ruiz Lara Gokool, Roberto Ruiz Lara; Stella Ruiz Molina Olveda, Jeannette Ruiz Molina, Rose Marie Ruiz Molina Salazar and her guardian and niece Mary-Angel Ruiz Molina Torres. Many numerous great-nephews and great-nieces. Our gratitude and special thanks to Dr. Pablo Lozada at Baptist Hospital Downtown and Dr. Laura Givens, Retama Manor Nursing Facility. Our appreciation to the staff at Retama Manor Nursing Facility-downtown for their continual support and care and especially the CNAs that worked closely with her. The Family wishes that instead of flowers that donations be made to Retama Manor Nursing Facility-downtown, 501 Ogden, San Antonio, TX 78212. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Chapel Service to be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the funeral home
