Carol Lynne Johns, 74, passed away on October 27, 2019. She was born to Martin J. Ross and Margaret Ross on February 6, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the youngest of 3 children. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Margaret Ross; her husband, William Johns; and her brother, Robert Ross. She is survived by her daughter April Johns and husband Hector Gomez of Cibolo, Texas; and son Robert Martin of Schertz, Texas; her grandchildren, Carlie Martin, Isabella Lopez, and William Lopez; her brother, Marvin Ross and wife Joyce Ross of Pleasanton, Texas; five nieces and one nephew, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life Carol was blessed to have many opportunities to travel and see the world. After marrying the love of her life in Athens, Greece, they travelled around Europe before they returned to Texas to be closer to family and friends. She enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas with her husband and taking countless road trips with him and her family.
Carol was not afraid of hard work. She worked for HEB’s Meat Market for over 20 years. After retiring, she was fortunate to spend her next twenty-one years being with and caring for her family and friends. Carol was a very loyal friend to many, who she considered to be a part of her own family. Many even saw her as their second mother/grandmother; Jose Lopez, Carmen Marin, Christian Marin, Monica Morales, Christine Johnson, and Rhianna Blumberg. Her friendships tested the boundaries of time, to include her dearest friend of over 40 years, Hiltrud Crumrine and her family. She was a great listener and always lent a helping hand to anyone in need. She was an avid donor to Compassion International, sponsoring many children to help them grow spiritually and emotionally.
We would be remiss if we did not mention her love for animals. She cherished many animals including, but not limited to: Hugo, Bozo, Pugo, Sweetpea, Mr. Blue Eyes, Ringer, Sandy, Charlie, Honey, and Blackberry.
