Ms. Carmen F. Flores Salinas

Carmen F. Salinas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into rest on May 21, 2011 at the age of 90. She was born on January 9, 1921. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Marcelino and Andrea Flores, husband Pedro Salinas, daughter Teresa S. Canales and late husband Artie Canales, brother Pedro Flores and sister Mary F. Garcia. She is survived by her daughters Rosario Salinas, Carmen and John Greg Cooper, Guadalupe Salinas; son Pedro and Mickey Salinas; grandchildren, Stephanie Salinas, Cynthia Canales, Crystal Villarreal, Tracy and Kenny McClendon, Robert Cooper, Pedro Salinas III, Bianca and Ram Gonzalez, Matthew P. Ytuarte, Mike and Mandy Rico, Robert and Gracie Rico and Gabriel and Teresa Rico, Art Canales Jr., Carl Canales; 19 great-grandchildren; brother Marcelino and Peggy Flores; and numerous other relatives and friends. Family will receive family and friends at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 125 W. Whittier. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II. The family wishes to extend a special “thank you” to Julie Booth, Lucy, Molly Trevino and Sandy McKinney and all of the professionals at VITAS for their kind help.
