Carl E. Reichenbach, age 93, went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2013. He was born on August 3, 1919 in New Baden, TX and was raised in a farming community in Taylor, TX. He joined the U. S. Army in 1940 serving 2 years and 7 months in the South Pacific and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for services in Papua, New Guinea. He was honorably discharges in 1945 as a SSGT. Mr. Reichenbach was a home builder until 1970 when he joined Frost Bank, later retired as Assistant Vice President in 1989. He was a member of San Antonio Masonic Lodge #1079, Scottish Rite Masons and Alzafar Shrine.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Frieda Laake Reichenbach; son, Gary Reichenbach & wife Debbie; 2 grandchildren, Gary Reichenbach, Jr. & wife Kristin; and Amanda Reichenbach; great granddaughter, Mikayla Reichenbach; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will take place at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
