Candace C. Walker Vaughn passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas, on October 17, 2015, surrounded by love ones. Candace was born in San Antonio, Texas, December 15, 1972. She was a graduate of Thomas C. Clark High School where she excelled as an outstanding student in speech and debate. Candace was active with Jack & Jill of America and was an NAACP ACT- SO award winner. Upon graduating from high school, Candace attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Candace was a Human Resources Manager for Chevron Oil Company, Houston, Texas and for Asurion's corporate office in Brentwood, Tennessee. Candace was passionate about her work and she championed the lives of those less fortunate. She once removed her shoes and gave them to a homeless person in need.
Candace is survived by many friends and family. She was married to Larry M. Vaughn and they have three children, Darryus, College Station, Cailin, and Cydney of San Antonio, Texas.
Candace valued her relationship with family and friends. Huewitt ( brother-in-law, Ken Huewitt) Pearland, Texas; brother, Willie Walker, Clinton, South Carolina; aunt and uncle Shirley Tillman and Dr. Walter Tillman, Austin, Texas; aunt, Annie Walker, Clinton, South Carolina; cousins Hugh Tillman and Mitchel Tillman; nieces and nephew, Hunter Huewitt, Hailey Huewitt, Houston, Texas, Marissa Elder, San Antonio, Texas and extended family, Francine Prosser-Johnson, San Antonio, Texas.
