Bruce P. Hevner went to be with our Lord on April 15, 2023, he was 74. Bruce was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on March 21, 1949 to Dolores and Harold Hevner who preceded him in death. He worked at VIA Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio, TX for 39 years. He also was in the Navy Reserves and went to Vietnam and the Army Reserves.
Bruce was a member of VIA’s Retired Union 694, he enjoyed helping everyone. He loved to deep sea fish and hunt, and play dominos. He would compete with his wife, Cathy, on who could catch the biggest fish.
He graduated from Floresville High School. Then on January 15, 1972, he married Cathy Stahl in San Antonio. Every night, he would watch Murder She Wrote because he loved Angela Lansbury.
Bruce is preceded by Betty and Tiny Pundt, who raised him and his brothers, and Rosemary and Efflin Burke.
Survivors include his wife Cathy, with 51 great years of marriage, his brother Barry Hevner and his wife Sandra, Brian Hevner and his wife Debbie, and Harold Hevner and his wife Betty. Also, his children Bruce Hevner Jr. and his wife Ludenia and their children Wandera, Joseph, Tazra Pilot and her fiance Keegan Simmons and her son Nathan. His daughter Rebecca Tiemann and her husband Chris and their children Brodie and Hunter. Bruce had a family that was always close to him, his nephews David Hevner and his wife Brooke and their child Easton; Brandon Hevner his wife Virginia and their children Addy and Hondo; and Levi Hevner, Cody Hevner, Chris McCombs and his children and his Nieces Jordan Osborne and her husband John, and Angela Lansbury.
Cathy would like to thank everyone who helped to support Bruce and her during his illness, especially the nurses and doctors at Northeast Baptist Hospital.
The get together will be on Monday 4/24/2023 at 2:00 at Sunset Memorial Park on Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX.
