Bertha C. Vasquez

Bertha Coronado Vasquez, a native of San Antonio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 9, 2014. She was born on May 19,1919 to John G. and Isabel Coronado. Bertha was a ninth generation descendant of San Antonio’s first Canary Island settlers and member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She graduated from Main Street High School, now known as Fox Tech High School. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Daniel; sisters, Alice, Leonor and Esther; and a grandson Rick Trujillo. Bertha is survived by her son, Richard Trujillo and wife Irene; daughter, Gloria Peterson and husband Pedro; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30a.m, Monday February 17, 2014 to celebrate a 10:00a.m. Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower.
